frequency distribution For nominal or discrete data, the information consisting of the possible values and the corresponding frequencies is called the frequency distribution. For grouped data, it gives the information consisting of the groups and the corresponding frequencies. It may be presented in a table or in a diagram such as a bar chart, histogram or stem‐and‐leaf plot.
