integrable system A dynamical system which is determined by its initial conditions and such that the phase space can be partitioned into disjoint evolutions of the system (called integral curves or leaves). The motion of a rigid body about its centre of mass is integrable whilst the three-body problem is generally not integrable. Integrable systems have conserved invariants and do not have chaotic behaviour (see chaos).
