normalize (normalizable) To normalize a vector v is to scale a non-zero vector v so that it has unit length, that is, to create v/|v|. To be normalizable is for a vector to have finite norm so that it can be normalized; this is a term particularly used in probability of probability density functions and quantum theory of wave functions.
