counting measure

Let $(X,𝔅)$ be a measurable space. The measure $\mu$ on $X$ defined by

for all $A\in 𝔅$ is called the counting measure on $X$.Usually this is applied when $X$ is countable, e.g. $\mathbb{N}$ or $\mathbb{Z}$.
