simultaneity Two events are simultaneous if they occur at the same time. A paradoxical consequence of relativity is that two observers cannot agree about the simultaneity of events. Indeed, the Lorentz-Fitgerald contraction is a consequence of an observer measuring between events which are not simultaneous in the rest frame of the object being measured.
