singular point (singularity) (geometry) A point on a curve where there is not a unique well-defined tangent. It may be an isolated point, or a point where the curve cuts itself such as a node, or a cusp where there is a repeated tangent. More generally, a singularity on a manifold is a point where the tangent space is not well defined.
