cumulative frequency The sum of the frequencies of all the values up to a given value. If the values x1, x2,…, xn, in ascending order, occur with frequencies f1, f2,…, fn, respectively, then the cumulative frequency at xi is equal to f1 + f2 + ⋯ + fi. Cumulative frequencies may be similarly obtained for grouped data.
