Dirac, Paul Adrien Maurice (1902–84) Born in England to a Swiss father and English mother, he was Lucasian Professor of Mathematics at Cambridge University for 37 years. He is best known for bringing together relativity theory and quantum theory and shared the Nobel Prize for physics in 1933 with Erwin Schrödinger.
