Kingman, Sir John Frank Charles (1939– ) British mathematician who made important contributions to the theory and applications of probability and stochastic analysis, including operational research and population genetics, queuing theory, measure theory, and ergodic theory. He was president of the LMS from 1990–2 and the first chairman of the Statistics Commission in 2000.
