Kolmogorov, Andrei Nikolaevich (1903–87) Russian mathematician who made significant contributions in various areas of mathematics, including topology and dynamical systems. In probability, his important contribution was to give the subject a rigorous foundation by using the language and notation of measure theory. See probability space.
