Parity

In Mathematics it means odd or even.

Example: 2, 4 and 6 have the same parity (they are all even), but 3 and 4 have opposite parity (one is odd, the other is even)

But in General English it just means being equal. Example: The two teams have reached parity with 4 goals each.
