biometry (biostatistics) The development and application of statistical methods to biological problems, including the design of experiments and the analysis and interpretation of experimental data. Biometrics may also refer to the collection of data relating to living organisms, such as DNA, or for the purposes of identification, as with fingerprints or retinal scans.
