logarithmic plotting Two varieties of logarithmic graph paper are commonly available. One, known as semi‐log or single log paper, has a standard scale on the x‐axis and a logarithmic scale on the y‐axis. If given data satisfy an equation y = bax (where a and b are constants), exhibiting exponential growth or exponential decay, then on this special graph paper the corresponding points lie on a line. The other variety is known as log–log or double log paper and has a logarithmic scale on both axes. In this case, data satisfying y = bxm (where b and m are constants) produce points that lie on a line.
