root lattice

If $R\subset E$ is a root system, and $E$ a Euclidean vector space, then the root lattice${\mathrm{\Lambda }}_R$ of $R$ is the subset of $E$ generated by $R$ as an abelian group. In fact, thisgroup is free on the simple roots, and is thus a full sublattice of $E$.
