Anna Nagurney

Anna Nagurney (? - ) American applied mathematician, economist and author, best known for her work on Braess’ paradox.

Born of Ukrainian immigrants in Canada, Nagurney graduated from Brown with a undergraduate degrees in Applied Mathematics and Russian Language and Literature and then earned her Sc.M. and Ph.D. in Applied Mathematics at Brown. After her .D., she joined the faculty of the University of Massachusetts at Amherst. She was the first woman to be appointed to a named professorship at the University of Massachusetts, where she is the John F. Smith Memorial Professor in the Isenberg School of Management. She teaches Management Science/Operations Research.
