change of observer (change of reference) Let A and B be observers, possibly moving relative to one another. The same event will be observed differently by A and B. Knowing one observation and the relative position of A and B allows the calculation of what the other observer would see. In classical mechanics time and distance are independent of the choice of observer. See frame of reference, Galilean relativity, special relativity.
